NARSAD of Greater Washington D.C. will be holding our Fifth Annual MISSION POSSIBLE Gala on April 21, 2008 at the Swedish Embassy's House of Sweden.  Come dance by the Potomac to the swing tunes of the Radio King Orchestra, watch a fantastic dance display, win eye-popping raffle prizes including exquisite jewelry crafted by Great Falls' Adeler Jewelers, bid on museum-quality artwork created by and for those with mental illnesses, and mingle at cocktails and a seated dinner. 

At the Gala, we will also be awarding our signature Wellstone Award to Senators Ted Kennedy & Mike Enzi, for their continued and bipartisan efforts towards mental health reform; and to Hollywood Director Joe Greco and Joey Pantoliano, Hollywood actor best known for his roles in The Sopranos, The Matrix and Momento.  Mr. Greco and Mr. Pantoliano are lauded for their groundbreaking anti-stigma movie Canvas.  Canvas is Mr. Greco's semi-autobiographical piece on his life with a schizophrenic mother.  Mr. Pantoliano not only plays a significant role in the move - he too has a personal link to the movie as he suffers from mental illness.

MISSION POSSIBLE 2008 Raffle

OUR LAST GALA: NARSAD of Greater Washington D.C.'s 2007 Gala at the Canadian Embassy was a smashing success! The evening shined with stars as Mike Wallace presented our signature "Wellstone Award" to Representative Patrick Kennedy, and (posthumously) to Art Buchwald. We raised over half a million dollars, which will all go directly to help find cures for mental illnesses.

These stunning prizes were raffled in 2007:

First Prize:

A stunning custom designed, Jorge Adeler original Brooche.  This piece features one (1) South Sea Mobe pearl emerging from it's "shell" & surrounded by a concentric row of round brilliant diamonds that are pave' mounted.  This one-of-a-kind piece has hand applied gold scroll work on the reverse to complete the design.
